Joe Johnson's life took a profound turn at the age of 12 following a motorcycle accident that resulted in the loss of his leg. Despite grappling with the challenges posed by his initial prosthetic (an elementary wooden device that impeded rather than facilitated his movement) Joe persisted. Discovering solace and exhilaration on the slopes through the Children's Hospital recreational ski program, he defied the constraints imposed by his prosthetic limb.
With remarkable courage and perseverance, Joe not only embraced skiing but excelled in it, eventually reaching the pinnacle of adaptive sports by competing in the Paralympic Games. His journey from adversity to triumph served as a beacon of inspiration to countless individuals, illustrating the boundless potential achievable through resilience.
Before founding Quorum Prosthetics 28 years ago, Joe became a certified prosthetist, recognizing the pivotal role of proper prosthetic care in enhancing an individual's quality of life. His mission was deeply rooted in paying forward the support and encouragement he once received, establishing Quorum Prosthetics as a sanctuary of hope and healing for amputees striving to regain independence and pursue their passions.
