Welcome Kurt: Our New Patient Engagement Specialist
I’m Kurt Karr, and 18 years ago I survived an auto accident that should have taken my life. After two years of surgeries and therapies focused on saving my right leg, I made the difficult decision to have it amputated, and not once have I doubted that my life became better because of it.
Every amputee’s journey is different. Some experience sudden trauma. Others face years of disease and complications. But within every story are lessons that help all of us grow stronger, gain confidence, and continue moving forward as parents, grandparents, spouses, friends, coworkers, and neighbors.
My wife and I recently moved to Colorado to be closer to our children and grandchildren, which meant I needed to find a new prosthetics provider after many years with an outstanding practitioner in Iowa. That decision wasn’t easy. After extensive research, I chose Quorum, and quickly discovered a team deeply committed to patient care, innovation, and helping people regain confidence in their mobility and lives.
Working with a new prosthetist and receiving my first adjustable Quatro socket opened an exciting new chapter for me. It also inspired me to join Quorum in sharing patient stories, encouraging amputees to pursue the care they deserve, and helping others realize that limb loss does not mean the end of an active, meaningful, and fulfilling life.
In the months ahead, I’m excited to share stories, insights, encouragement, and practical information through Quorum’s newsletter and social media channels. Whether you’re an amputee, a family member, or simply someone who wants to better understand this journey, I hope you’ll follow along and become part of the Quorum community.
